PICNIC! FESTIVAL is one day event, already shooted last year with strong success.
One day spent “at the park", with the company of drawers, designers, authors and publishers of illustrated books and comics. All authors will draw and dedicate both their books and their drawing to general public all day long (10-20); with picnic lunch-break.
Around them, one book-shop, some publishers, free readers, activities for children concerning drawing and illustration.
This year, as we have so much attention and interest on the event we’re introducing few news, like special guests from foreign country.
KLAAS VERPLANCKE from Flanders, that will be also present for a “preview”, on saturday 27th late afternoon in centertown to meet general public for the first time in Reggio Emilia (thanks to the Flemish Literature Fund that made possible to have Klass present at Picnic! Festival).
CLAUDIA RANUCCI, young drawer of illustrated childrens books, that lives and works in Spain for the last 11 years.
“PICNIC!” FESTIVAL has been created by Andrea Ciccarelli (italian comic’s publisher, www.saldapress.com), Fiorenza Ballabeni (public manager on communications) and Cristiana Valentini (graph.designer, writer, illustrator, www.delica.it).
After the strong first edition last year, they decided to create in Reggio Emilia a cultural association around this project and they founded “Circolo ARCI PICNIC – Ass. Culturale”.
This is working to present more and more illustration, comics, books, to general public.
The association is nonprofit; he works searching for private sponsoring and it’s already been accepted inside A.R.C.I. (www.arci.it), national association for social promotion.
